Highland Elementary School is a pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade school with an enrollment that averages around 390 students. Bilingual services are available at Highland Elementary, and our nickname is the Hawks.
Highland was built in 1912 and got its name by being located in the area of Salem known as Highland. The name Highland is said to originate from the flood of 1861 during which most of Salem, except for this area, was flooded.
